1. Purpose and Commitment

Equity Sherpa is committed to creating and sustaining a working environment where all
individuals are treated with dignity and respect. The company values diversity and believes that
different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences enhance the quality of its services.

The company complies fully with the Equality Act 2010 and ensures that no individual is
subject to unlawful discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on the basis of age, disability,
gender, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race,
religion or belief, or sexual orientation.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all directors and employees of Equity Sherpa (this will be a three-person
consultancy that might also use associates). It also applies to contractors, consultants, and third
parties engaged by the company, and to interactions with clients, partners, and suppliers.

3. Principles

Equity Sherpa will:

  • Provide equal opportunities in recruitment, training, and progression.
  • Ensure decisions relating to employment and work allocation are based solely on merit,
    skills, and business needs.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Address inappropriate behaviour promptly and fairly.

4. Responsibilities

Employee Responsibilities

Employees and associates are expected to:

  • Treat colleagues, clients, and partners with respect and fairness.
  • Avoid and report any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying.
  • Support the creation of a positive and inclusive workplace.

Management Responsibilities

The directors are responsible for:

  • Leading by example in upholding equality and diversity.
  • Ensuring all employment and management practices comply with the Equality Act 2010.
  • Investigating reported concerns promptly and taking corrective action where appropriate.
  • Reviewing and updating this policy to reflect changes in law or best practice.

5. Reporting Concerns

Any employee, associate, or contractor who experiences or observes discrimination,
harassment, or victimisation should report the matter directly to a director. Reports will be taken
seriously, treated confidentially, and addressed promptly.

6. Review and Oversight

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure continued compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and to reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to best practice in equality and diversity.
